Abandoned thoughts

I have officially abandoned the park thoughts as I had envisaged then but something else about what I thought then is coming back. The gate allows only one at a time . I also thought of two drawn figures on the walls of the raised podium.

The first one was looking at the world with one eye- the turbaned writer and social reformer who lived between 1862 and 1915. He was not one-eyed but the figure drawn there was a profile showing only one side of his face. The second one was a great social reformer who lived between 1848 and 1919. He is the one who had the ghoulish eyes ,not in real life but in the picture drawn on the wall.

The great people were drawn by an inept kitsch painter based upon their figures in popular memory. How do dead people live in the memory of people still alive ?

Here I am merely stratifying data trying to classify people broadly into two categories-the dead ones and the still alive ones. My father’s only existing photo with a black coat is how he lives in my memory because I had never seen him. He lives in my still-alive memory. My father is dead and I am still alive. The social reformer is dead but people whose collective memory forms the basis for the picture are still alive.

The painter is still alive. I ask myself : why am I classifying people into the dead and still alive ones .Just to put it in perspective. Could I not have a classification like : the painter and the painted?
But why do I carry on? These are my abandoned thoughts.
